Join Us on The Ulster Way!

We are inviting anybody else who reckons they are up to it to join us on our route. Join us for a day, a few days, part of a day, or the whole thing! You will get an idea of what's in store from the descriptions on this site, but be warned, we are looking at 12-hour days!

We intend to make an early start each morning, carrying everything we will need for that day, and we will finish when we finish, most likely in a quite appalling physical and mental state.

Note that cycling is not sanctioned (or possible!) on some of the route, so anyone joining us will need to be prepared to carry their bike for some (possibly long) sections, depending on that day's terrain.

If you plan to join us, we would be delighted to see you, but remember you need to sort yourself out with transport, accommodation, kit, etc. We will have enough to think of, and won't be able to provide much support beyond information.

Hey Guys, Im thinking of joining you on at least some of day one. Ill be able to confirm closer to the day. However I live just a couple of 100 m from the Lisburn end of the lagan towpath. I know this is only about 14 miles from your start point but whether or not I end up joining you, you are welcome to stop in if needs be to use the facilities/get a cup of tea/get breakfast if you started too early in Belfast etc.

Good man, Mark - appreciate the offer, and would be great to have you for any part of the route you can make it for. Stopping would be a disaster, though, as chances are we would just spend the week in Lisburn!!

Well boys yet another totally off the wall idea that sounds good fun, for the not so sound of mind! Might be fit to give you a push through Newry.
Will do the decent thing and make a donation.

Guys, what can I say but "respect". Hope I and many others will make the effort to see you off, or follow your progress. Will you be blogging if you can find the energy? would be great to hear your review of the journey and the route. Have often thought of riding more of the Way......but not the whole darn thing in six days! Admire your optimism....suncream?!
Best of luck. Niall
